Antique Belais Brothers 14k white gold with 2 fancy kite cut amethysts Art Deco ring sz 5.25, 3.3g. Amethysts measure approx. 7.8mm x 7.1mm. Ring even has engraved name inside band! In 1863, David Belais founded Belais Manufacturing Company. In 1917, David Belais of Belais Brothers submitted his special formula of white gold, and the patent was applied for in October of 1918, and approved in 1920. The Belais alloy became so popular, that during the 1920s, white gold was sometimes referred to as “Belais metal.”
