We strive to describe and photograph all of our items clearly and truthfully. Unless otherwise stated, our vintage and antique jewellery is not cleaned. This is due to many requests for vintage jewellery to be left in it's original condition.

Vintage jewellery will almost always show signs of wear. We will always state the full condition of the item within the description.

Please note that payment for all pending sales must be completed within three working days unless a payment extension is previously agreed between both parties prior to sale. Failure to pay within this time frame will incur penalties. These penalties are clearly listed in Ruby Lane's FAQ Knowledge Base as follows:

Shipping, Handling, Insurance Policy

All purchases need to be fully paid for within three days. All items will be posted within three days of payment being made. All postage costs are dependent upon the total weight and value of all items purchased within a single sale. All items under £250 and within 2 kilos in weight are posted via Royal Mail and should take between 1-3 weeks to arrive (Royal Mail will only insure items to the value 0f £250). All items (or multiple combined orders) over £250 and within 2 kilos in weight will be posted via UPS who insure items up to the value of £1000. Please be aware that all postage times are approximate only and can often take longer due to disruption outside of our control such as adverse weather, postal strikes, customs delays and any other unforeseen circumstances. All items are provided with a tracking number so that you may be kept up to date on its progress. All purchases are checked and re-checked prior to posting. If an item is found to be 'not as described' or damaged in some way prior to posting (during storage or otherwise) we will cancel the sale and refund in full and immediately inform the purchaser of the reason why. We cannot accept Paypal eCheques - Paypal eCheques take up to 5 business days to clear, but in some cases, it may take longer (Saturday, Sunday, and Holidays aren't considered business days). This means that we cannot post items until eCheques are cleared which compromises our delivery times. Any items purchased via Paypal eCheques will be cancelled and a refund initiated. BUYERS WITH PO ADDRESS BOXES: Please be aware that we use UPS for orders over £250 (for insurance purposes) and UPs will NOT deliver to PO addresses. Royal Mail WILL deliver to PO addresses as long as the value is under £250. This means that any PO address order over the amount of £250 will be either split into two seperate orders or postage increased (if awaiting a final value invoice), or will be cancelled and refunded. Combined postage: Many of our items are boxed and vary greatly in size, weight and value. We can combine postage but only up to the value of £250 and a weight of 2kg for Royal Mail, and a value of up to £1000 and 2kg via UPS. If you would like combined postage for multiple items then please wait for a combined postage invoice from us before making payment. If the value of your items is above £250 (or £1000 via UPS) and the weight above 2kg we will not be able to combine all items together which will result in separate packages and a higher postal invoice to cover all packages. If this is not possible then the sale will be cancelled and refunded. If you are not available at the time of delivery your local postal service will leave you a note for you to either collect your delivery from your local depot or rearrange delivery within one week, it then becomes your responsibility to collect your package from the holding point stated or to rearrange delivery at a time convenient for you. Failure to collect or rearrange your delivery will result in your parcel being returned back to us. If a return postage fee is required, the fee will be deducted from the final refund amount. This also applies to returned items due to unpaid customs charges or unknown/wrong address given. Please note that all of our items are vintage or antique and have been previously used or worn before. No items are 'as new' and we will always state the condition of the item within the listing, if you have any further questions then please don't hesitate to contact us prior to purchase. Items broken or damaged by the buyer once received and worn are not our responsibility and are therefore not eligible for return or refund. Returns are accepted. If you would like to return an item you must contact us within three days of receipt otherwise the sale will be deemed as final, non-returnable and non-refundable. Uk buyers have one week to return the item, EU buyers have fourteen days to return the item and Worldwide buyers have thirty days to return the item. If returning from overseas the buyer must clearly write 'RETURNED ITEM' on the front of the package and also on the Customs Form. Failure to do so will incur UK Customs Fee's and the charge will be deducted from the final refund amount. Buyer pays for the return shipping, handling and insurance costs. The returned item must be in the same condition as received, complete and with the original packaging. Broken or damaged items through buyers fault are not eligible for refund. We are not responsible for items lost or damaged in the return shipping and it is the buyers responsibility to ensure that the item is fully insured for the final purchase value when returning. Any items lost or damaged whilst being returned are the buyers responsibility and must be claimed for via the buyers return shipping insurance company. Any returns with Customs fee's, return fee's, underpayment of postage or damage will be deducted from the final refund amount. Please be aware that as from 2020 Paypal no longer refunds sellers final value fee's. If a refund is initiated for a returned item these fee's will be deducted from the final refund total.
