On sale until the end of December.

Hand colored etching entitled Montague Terrace by listed artist Tanna Kasimir Hoernes (1887 - 1972). Etching done in 1933. Some loss of gilding on the frame. Signed by artist. View of Brooklyn, New York City with Manhattan NYC skyline in the distance.

There is a small museum dedicated to the work of the Kasimirs.

Tanna, from Graz, Austria studied at the Vienna Academy of Art under the etcher and scholar, William Unger. While studying in Vienna, she met her husband Luigi and continued developing her skills within printmaking. Just as Luigi before entering the world of etching, Tanna brought her previous artistic expertise and knowledge of painting to the plates she made. In this, she created her own etching style apart from Luigi’s, breaking new ground within the world of printmaking. Luigi and Tanna traveled throughout Europe and the states. Their work signifies the various places they had seen together in their lifetime.

If you are in the Los Angeles area you may see the painting prior to purchase and arrange local pick up.
