A fine antique hand colored steel engraving of Pierre Vergniaud (1753-1793) by an anonymous engraver. Vergniaud was a French statesman, orator and key figure during the French Revolution. Print measures approximately 6 1/2" x 10 1/8". It is in very good condition with light toning/foxing along the edges of the margins and a rough edge where it was removed from the binding. Still retains protective cover sheet and small envelope with biography taped to back of print. Should mat and frame nicely.
