ANTIQUE ORIGINAL VANITY FAIR LITHOGRAPH PRINT " THRICE CHAMPION " - H. L. DOHERTY - Sept. 1 ,1904. Print measures approximately 10 1/2" x 15 1/2". It is in good condition with clean margins and will mat and frame nicely. There are tape marks on the back of the print in the upper margin that cannot be seen from the front. Vanity Fair was a British weekly magazine published from 1868 to 1914. Founded by Thomas Gibson Bowles, it offered its readership articles on fashion, current events, the theatre, books, social events and the latest scandals. A full-page, color lithograph of a contemporary celebrity or dignitary appeared in most issues, and it is for these caricatures that Vanity Fair is best known today.
