This is a 10" Armand Marseille 390 dolly face bisque socket head doll* . She is dressed in her original native costume, which has not been altered. It consists of a black satin short sleeved down to her ankles dress under a cotton blended gray striped half apron. She wears a batiste brightly printed scarf around her shoulders, tucked into the front of her apron over an off white blouse. She has a short down to her knees off white muslin half slip with matching knee length pantaloons. She wears black knit knee socks and light tan wooden shoes. Tightly around her neck is a string of brightly colored orange plastic "beads", matching one of the colors in her scarf. She has very short black hair, covered by an off white lace trimmed Dutch style cap, held on by a tiny white string going under her chin. (Her wig is pulled away slightly from her scalp both around the front and back of her head.) She has straight legs, movable at the hips, straight arms, movable at the shoulders and her head can turn at the neck. She has a composition body and arms.. She has good coloring with light brown painted eyebrows, black "sleep" glass eyes (no eyelashes; a spot of paint is missing on the left eye when closed), rosy cheeks, red painted lips and a dimple in her chin. She is opened mouth with four upper front teeth. She is clearly marked, "Armand Marseille Germany A 390 M" on the back of her head. Unfortunately, her right hand is broken off at the wrist, as pictured. This is reflected in her price. She is a well costumed doll and a treasure to have.
