Here we have a nice 1941 Walking Liberty Half Dollar, struck at the Denver Mint in 90% silver over 80 years ago. These coins were issued from 1916 until 1947 in compositions of 90% Silver and 10% Copper. They have a total weight of 0.36169 troy ounces of pure silver in each coin.
The design on the obverse of the coin, the Walking Liberty, was designed by Adolph A Weinman in 1916 and submitted to the US Government as a design suggestion and was accepted. It is now acclaimed as one of the most beautiful designs to ever grace an American Coin. The beautifully detailed eagle on the reverse stands with its wings outstretched on a pine sapling that represents the United States as a prospering nation.
