A bold, remarkable Americana work executed largely in the impasto technique of thick oil paints. Though we have been unable to identify the artist, the technique and impression were too striking for us to ignore. A large, centerpiece work of richly bright colors, capturing the ease and serenity of a country intersection, framed by farm buildings/homes, fowl, and a captivating red tree in two unique impasto styles. Reminiscent of the driving directions one might get while navigating rural backroads, i.e. "turn right at the big red tree; you can't miss it!" A large work on stretched canvas measuring 28.5" x 30.5" sight and 33.5" x 43" in a beautifully ornate wood, dual wood frame. In excellent condition.
Priced on quality alone without consideration for the reputation of the artist, this could be a tremendous find. Or simply a stunning addition to collectors of American and folk art, and those who grew up in small farming communities and towns. Spectacular work, remarkably commanding on display!
