These antique plaques were created in France, circa 1880. Oval in shape and made of repousse copper, each plaque depicts a cabaret scene in the manner of David Teniers with people drinking and playing cards. The wall decorations are in excellent condition with a rich patinated finish. Place these decorative pieces in a game room or a study. Hook in the back for easy handling. David Teniers the Younger or David Teniers II (1610-1690) was a Flemish Baroque painter who was an innovator in a wide range of genres such as history painting, genre painting, landscape painting, portrait and still life; he was particularly known for developing the peasant genre and the tavern scene.
