After WWII the General Electric Corporation made life a lot easier for the Greatest Generation by making all kinds of time saving appliances for mom or grandmother. Pictured for sale is a 1952 General Electric Appliances Salesman’s Manual and a General Electric Space Maker Refrigerator Booklet.
1.)1952 General Electric Appliances Salesman’s Manual: This manual was given to small and large stores that sold GE appliances. The manual gives prices, advertising suggestions, tips to help salesman describe appliances to customers, and detailed point-of-sale aids to help close every sale to the housewives of 1952. One of the neatest things about the manual is that each item offered for sale starts out with a full color or black and white ad displaying a housewife standing next to a brand new appliance for 1952. The page showing the refrigerators also features it in a 1952 kitchen---how cool is that!
The manual has 200 pages featuring these appliances for sale: 1.Refrigerators. 2.The Electric Ranger. 3.Electric Water Heaters. 4.Automatic Dishwashers. 5.Electric Garbage Disposers. 6.Storage Cabinets and Cabinet Accessories. 7.Automatic Washers and Clothes Dryers. 8.Toe-Touch Automatic Ironer. 9.and the Wringer Washer which has been around since the 1920's. If you grew up in the 1950's then your mom or grandmother owned a wringer washer.
**Condition: The manual is very clean and in very good condition.
2.) General Electric Space Maker Refrigerator Booklet booklet that features the famous 1950's G.E. "Space Maker Refrigerator" along with refrigerator recipes. The booklets first 15 pages give you all kinds of ways to enjoy.your new Space Maker G.E. Refrigerator. The final 18 pages are filled with some really COOL!! recipes.
**Condition: The booklet is clean and bright and in very good condition.
There are numerous retro appliances being offered for sale by department stores all across the country. There are even companies that offer 1950's retro kitchens, kitchen tables and chairs, flooring, and even wall paper. If you ever go to an auction, 1950's appliances and kitchen table and chairs can go for hundreds of dollars.
Wouldn't this make a really cool birthday present to give to your parents or grandparents who lived throughout the 1950's. I bet they will close their eyes and remember all those wonderful memories of the times they made homemade meals, canned foods, and all kinds of yummy holiday cakes, cookies, and desserts for their families and friends.
