Today I'm offering for sale a fantastic book of photos of WWII by C. L. Sulzberger who was the lead foreign war correspondent for the New York Times during WWII and post-WWII. The Book is titled "The American Heritage Picture History of World War II" by C.L. Sulzberger, first published in 1966 by American Heritage Publishing Company, Incorporated.

This historic book shows in pictures and words the essential history of the human tragedies of a war that lasted six years and inflicted suffering of over thirty-five million members of the Armed Forces on both sides and millions of people who were killed, slaughtered by the Japanese and Nazi Germany in their attempt to rule the world.
The book has 640 pages broken down into 21 sections capturing the very beginning of Germany invading Poland in Europe and the official start of WWII followed by The Bombing of Pearl Harbor by the Japanese and America being drawn into WWII. The book also captures in pictures the battles and sacrifices our Armed Forces faced until the final battle on the ground against Japanese forces leading up to the Atomic Bombs being dropped on Japan ending WWII.

This is a great book for a teacher to use to help children learn about how WWII started straight through to the end. They will learn about the Greatest Generation as their daughters and sons proudly came forward to serve and keep America free.
As the war raged on from months and then years, parents and loved ones could only pray that their sons and daughters would remain safe while away fighting the war. The parents prayed that they would not receive a telegram, or a knock on the door informing them of their sons or daughters having been killed in action.
This book will also explain what Rationing meant during WWII and all the sacrifices Americans endured to see that our military had everything they needed to win the war.
Of course there is some reading, but most of all it is the photographs that tell the story. "God Bless Our Vets! and The Greatest Generation".
