Do you believe in Magic? Pictured for sale are seven of the world’s most famous Magic Magazines from the 1970's and 1980's titled, "Genii The Conjurors Magazine". The magazine was founded by William W. Larson and was first published on September 1936. It was entirely devoted to magic and magicians all around the world. The first printing only consisted of 750 copies and are highly sought after today and can bring top dollars if in very good condition.
The magazine is the longest running independent magazine purely encompassing everything to do with magic and its history and features famous and up-coming magicians in each issue. Each issue has over 40 to 60 pages filled with stories about magic, featured stories on the magician featured on the front cover, free magic tricks, loads of ads from fellow magicians offering their magic tricks for sale to the general public and loads of great photos of past and present magicians. Listed below is each magazine and its condition. Each magazine has a Magic Section, a Feature Article Section, a Special Column Section by Magicians and a Miscellaneous Section. The magazines measure 8" x 11". Listed below is a description of each issue and its condition:
1.) Dated October, 1967, Volume 32, Number 2, 47 pages; Featured on the front cover is Theo Dore' on his 75th Birthday.*Covers: Good- condition; light surface wear and staining along the spine, some chipping at the bottom right corner and the top and bottom of the spine, a stain along the spine edge, and a piece is missing from the top back edge.*Inside Pages: Clean and in good condition. There is a piece missing from the bottom right corner of the first two inside pages and a tan stain along the spine of some of the inside pages.
2.) Dated December, 1967, Volume 32, Number 4, 57 pages; Featured on the front page is Igor Kio performing at the Moscow Circus.*Covers: Very good condition and clean; minor wear to the spine and surface wear. *Inside pages: Very good condition and clean; tan stain along the spine on the inside of the front cover and the first page.
3.) Dated January, 1968, Volume 32, Number 5, 66 pages; Featured on the front page is Mystric Craig shown with a portion of his personal film library.*Covers: Good condition; small water mark along the spine near the bottom edge of the front and back covers; a small tan stain along the spine of the front cover, and five tiny tears along the top back edge.*Inside Pages: Small tan stain along the spine on the inside of the front cover and one to two very tiny tears along the top edge of each of the last 13 pages.
4.) Dated April, 1968, Volume 32, Number 8, 44 pages; This is a Special Salute to Jack and Anne Gwynne from a few of their best friends. *Covers: Fair condition; tiny tears and tiny pieces missing along the spine, several tiny to small pieces missing and tears along the top front edge, a ¾” hole and a few tiny tears along the right front edge, two water marks along the right front edge; water marks along the top back edge.*Inside Pages: Good- condition; ½” tear along the top edge of the first two pages and water stains along the top edge of the last 33 pages.
5.) Dated May, 1968, Volume 32, Number 9, 41 pages; This is a Special Issue prepared by the Supreme Magic Company of Devon, England, and features K.E. Hooper(Edwin) and Ian Adair. *Covers: Good- condition; several tiny pieces missing and tiny tears along the spine, a small water mark along the bottom front edge, a tiny piece missing and chipping along the right front edge, the word “Paid” is stamped several times on the front cover, and chipping along the bottom back edge.*Inside pages: Good condition and clean; chipping at the bottom right corner of the last inside page.
6.) Dated June, 1968, Volume 32, Number 10, 40 pages; Featured on the front cover is P.C.A.M. President Ernie Bryan. *Covers: Good condition; a small water stain at the top and bottom right front corners, a tiny piece is missing from the bottom right front corner, and tan spots along the bottom front edge. *Inside Pages: Very good condition and clean.
7.) Dated July, 1968, Volume 32, Number 11, 41 pages; Featured on the front cover is the famous magician couple “Mabel and Mack Birch”. *Covers: Good condition; chipping at the top and bottom of the spine, two very small water marks along the spine on the front cover, small piece missing from the bottom right front corner, two tiny tears at the bottom right front corner, tiny tear at the top back edge, and a tiny piece missing and two tiny tears along the bottom back edge. *Inside pages: Good condition and clean; there is chipping and a tiny piece is missing from the bottom right corner of the first 19 pages.
