Pictured for sale is a really neat party game from 1933 titled "Social Headaches". After playing your guests will be scratching their heads at their answers and laughing out loud at everyone else’s answers. The game is made by George E. Schweig & Son Company of Philadelphia, Pa. During the the 1930's and 1940's they made a number of games which are sought after today by collectors of vintage games.
On the top of the box it reads: Social Headaches, Rx When you feel the party going anaemic,
Apply As Follows---*Shake Well each guest who has fallen asleep. *Place in Palm of Hand a small pencil. *Followed By a sheet torn from the game you select to play. *Subsequent Applications depend on condition of patients. *Temperature Chart (Sheet of Answers) for diagnosing patients condition to be found inside.
This game includes 4 different game pads that the patient (guests) will use while playing the party game. Listed below is each game and how it's played. The directions are on each of the 4 game pads.
1.) "Eyes That Do Not See!" Suppose you were a witness to this hold-up scene. Study the picture carefully for three minutes then turn over the sheet and answer the questions found there. Can be played individual or by a group of guests depending on how many are at your party.
2.) "The Salesman's Orders" A Salesman was given a list of cities in the U.S. and was told to call on certain dealers in each city. He found the list below. By rearranging the letters in each, he learned what cities he was to visit. Can you name them?
3.) "The Cat’s Meow" What cats are represented in the following? Example--A cat that can swim. Answer--A Catfish.
4.) "Wisey's" A Wise - Cracking Come - Back Game. Fill in your idea of the conversation that took place in the following situations. Example--Mrs. Brown enters her husband’s office unannounced and finds a pretty girl on her husband’s lap. What would Mrs. Brown say and what excuse would Mr. Brown give in relay? This sheet could be sent out in advance of your party so your guests can have it ready when you start playing the game. I bet you'll get some great responses.
All 4 games are a pad that holds a number of sheets. I'm sure that not all the sheets are there. So instead of using the original sheets just make a number of copies of each sheet before playing the game.
There is a single sheet that gives the answers to the first 3 games.
Also another answer sheet from another Social Headaches Game was found inside the box.
**Condition: The box is in good- condition. The two answer sheets and four game pads are all in very good condition. *Box: There is normal surface wear to the box from being handled, edge wear, and corner wear.
