Offered for sale is this 1976 Marine Corps Parris Island, South Carolina, Yearbook, featuring the graduating class of the 296th Platoon Marines. This group of young men commenced training on October 5th, 1976, and completed training on December 21st, 1976.
The yearbook shows great pictures of the arrival at Parris Island followed by the visit to the PX, getting haircuts, issuing of their clothes, their medical exam, dental exam, making the "racks", classification, bucket and rifle issue, strength test, obstacle course, physical training with the rifle, rifle class, pack and equipment, close combat, the chow and mess duty, religious activities, DI Time and reporting, guard duty, mail call and free time, rifle range and pistol marksmanship instructions, cleaning racks, uniform issue, pugil stick games, mapping and compass class, individual combat training, amphibious and helicopter indoctrination, camouflage and concealment training, bivouac, firing the M-16 rifles, field fortifications, hand grenade training and everything else they needed to do in order to compete training to become a Marine. This Yearbook measures 9¼" wide x 12¼" long and has about 120 pages.
**Condition: The front and back covers are in very good condition, very clean and bright. The inside pages are in near mint condition, very clean and bright. *Covers: There is minor wear at the top and bottom of the spine, a minor surface scratch near the bottom edge of the front cover, minor rubbing at each of the corners on the front and back covers.
