Pictured for sale are two rare books that are quite interesting including a 1930's Policy Players Lucky Number Dream Book and Napoleon’s Oraculum & 1912-13 Doan's Directory of the United States. One book talks about your dreams and predictions, and the other book gives the census for the United States in 1912-1913. Listed below is a description of each book and its condition:
1.)"Doan's Directory of the United States--1912 and 1913”. This 32 page booklet goes into detail giving the census of towns and cities all across the United States. It is copyrighted in 1912 by the Foster-Milburn Drug Company. The booklet is sponsored by Doan's Kidney Pills of Buffalo, New York. The front cover shows a wonderful drawing of a couple coming home after a trip around the world being so happy to see the Statue of Liberty while the back shows a drawing a picture of a blacksmith who has a stiff back and may need Doan's pills to relieve his back pains. Throughout the booklet there are other Doan's products that will help in treating shingles, herpes, eczema, piles, rashes, salt rheum, rheumatism, blood purifiers, cuts, sprains, bruises, burns, scabies, tetter, itch, pimples, scald head, blackheads, and constipation. It's amazing how a few pills and an ointment helped in curing loads of problems in 1913. There are also actual first-hand stories from people who used the pills and the ointment that are sure to amaze.
**Condition: The front and back covers are in good- condition, clean and bright. The inside pages are in good condition, clean and bright. *Covers: There are tiny to small tears along the stapled edge, a very tiny piece missing from the top front edge, tiny to small crease marks and tears along the right front edge and left back edge, a piece missing from the right front edge and two tiny pieces missing from the left back edge, and a corner piece is missing from the bottom right front corner and the top left back corner. *Inside pages: There is very minor chipping along the right edge of the first two inside pages, a piece missing from the bottom right corner of the first inside page, a tiny piece missing from the bottom right corner of Page 11, and a small tear along the right edge of Page 31.
2.)"Policy Players Lucky Number Dream Book and Napoleon’s Oraculum" published in the 1930's by the Model Publishing Company of Chicago. The complete title of the book is "Old Aunt Dinah's Policy Players Sure Guide to Lucky Dreams and Lucky Numbers" including Sibyl's Book of Fate, and The Complete Oraculum. This is one fantastic book. Listed below are the different Dream Book categories that are quite interesting:
A. Human Physiognomy: or, How to Discern the Character of a Man by External Appearances.
B. The Analyzation and Interpretation of Dreams. This section is amazing because it lists 42 pages of words that if you dream about will affect your life. Here are a few examples: The word Apes--To dream of apes is not good. The word Beans--To dream you’re eating beans always signifies trouble and dissensions. The word Cheese--To dream you eat cheese, signifies profit and gain. The word Lettuce--To dream that one eats salads made of lettuce and other herbs they may be eaten raw, signifies trouble and difficulty in the management of affairs.
C. The Sybil's Book of Fate--a New Species of Divination, by means of Which Any Person may, without the Aid of Astrology, Procure Correct Answers to Questions Touching Future Events. After using Miss Sybil's system you may want to throw away the book. Here's a few sample questions given: Is my lover sincerely true and constant? What sort of a wife (If Any) shall I marry? Shall I marry the person I wish to?
D. The Signification of Moles on a man or woman. Yes Moles! Here's an example: A mole in the middle of the stomach, denotes one subject to dangerous disease or a mole on the eyebrow, signifies speedy marriage and a good husband.
E. Prognostications concerning the Birth of Children on a day of the month. Here's an example: A child born on the second day of the month is very lucky for discovering things lost, or hidden treasures; the child born on this day shall thrive.
F. Charms to Know Who Your Husband Shall Be.
G. Names To dream of persons' names signifies a free conscience and long life.
I. The Policy Players' Sure Guide on how to determine and find the Lucky Number by means of Dreams and Tables.
J. To dream of the Letters of the Alphabet signifies a high position in Society.

**Condition: The front and back covers are in fair condition. The inside pages are in good to good- to fair+ condition. *Covers: There is surface wear to the spine, and the front and back covers. There are tears at the top and bottom of the spine and small piece missing from the bottom of the spine, tiny to small tears along all the edges, and tiny to small pieces are missing along all the edges of the front and back covers. *Inside pages: There are crease marks at the corners of the first 15 pages, very light water stains on some of the pages, and small pieces missing from the corners of the last 6 pages.
