Today I'm offering for sale 12 Penny Arcade Cards from the 1940's and 1950's featuring famous movie and TV western stars. Arcade cards have been around since the early 1900's and have featured sport stars, movie stars, TV stars, animals, cars, and pretty women. The arcade cards I'm selling are all western stars that are quite famous. Listed below is each card and its condition.
1.)Lash La Rue card; Lash was known as "The King of the Bullwhip" and used his bullwhip and his quick six-shooters to bring villains to justice in the movies from the 1940's. *Condition: There is surface wear, a few small stains, edge wear, and corner bumps.
2.)Jack Holt card from the 1940's; Jack was a lesser known star in western movies. *Condition: There is light soiling, and corner bumps.
3.)Johnny Mack Brown card; Johnny Mack was a big western star of the 1930's and 1940's starring in close to 200 movies. He also played roles opposite famous leading screen actresses in his career. *Condition: There is light surface wear, minor edge wear, a crease mark on the back at the bottom right corner, and corner bumps.
4.)Tim McCoy card; Tim was a war hero during WWI, a scholar and historian who had a working knowledge of American Indian oral and sign languages; His career started in silent movies after which he starred in 80 movies over 40 years. *Condition: There is light surface wear, corner bumps, and light soiling.
5.)Tim Holt card; Tim starred in over 50 movies in the 1930's and 1940's; He served in WWII as a bombardier flying nearly 60 missions in the Pacific Theater. *Condition: There is light surface wear and corner bumps.
6.)Glenn Ford card. Glenn is better known as a dramatic movie actor then a western star. *Condition: The card is clean with tiny corner bumps.
7.)Wayde Preston card; Wayde starred in the 1957 TV western show called "Colt .45" as Christopher Colt, a government agent who tracks down outlaws. *Condition: There is soiling, stains, surface wear, and small corner bumps.
8.)Chuck Connors card; Chuck starred as the Rifleman, a struggling rancher along with his son Mark(Johnny Crawford) who helped the marshal of North Fork; The show called the "Rifleman" ran from 1958 through 1963 and can still be seen on TV today; His rifle was the co-star of the show which was modified for extremely rapid and continuous firing; The bad guys never had a chance. *Condition: The card has light surface wear, light soiling, and corner bumps.
9.)Dale Robertson card; Dale was the star of the TV show called "The Tales of Wells Fargo" and was an agent for Wells Fargo & Express Company; His job was to guard the stage coach which was always in the peril of being held-up. *Condition: The card is clean with tiny corner bumps.
10.)Robert Culp card; Robert starred in the TV western called "Trackdown" along with numerous other TV shows; He became well- known when he starred in the hit TV show "I Spy" alongside of Bill Cosby. *Condition: The card is clean with tiny corner bumps.
11.)Robert Culp card; *Condition: This card is clean with tiny corner bumps.
12.)Jock Mahoney card; Jack starred in two TV shows, “The Range Rider” in 1951 and later “Yancy Derringer” in 1958; He also played Tarzan in two feature films and made guest appearances on numerous TV shows. *Condition: The card is clean with tiny corner bumps.
During the Golden Age of TV westerns in the 1950's and 1960's over 150 different shows kept youngsters and adults glued to the TV screen.
