What better way to accessorize an outfit than with this classic Evans 1920's/1930's Ladies Mesh Art Deco Purse. This purse is made by the Evans Case Company of North Atleboro, Mass. During this time period thousands of stunning styles of ladies mesh purses were made and are very sought after today by collectors.
The purse has a beautiful metal goldtone frame with a blue geometric design inlaid into the frame. The metal tight mesh is made with fine ring baby soldered mesh. The mesh colors are blue, red, yellow, and green and the design is sometimes called a Vanity Peacock or abstract Art Deco. It has a 12” chain. The Evans name is etched on the inside of the metal frame.
The purse frame is 3¾” wide along the top, the mesh is 5” long and the purse measures 6¾” from the top latch to the bottom of the mesh. There are five unattached rings found under the left edge of the frame and some others are missing on the purse. Overall for being nearly 80 years old it's in great condition.
A wonderful addition to any vintage mesh purse collection.
