Today I'm offering two neat Christmas collectibles from the 1950's that most Baby Boomers will surely remember including a Santa Soaky and Howdy Doody and Clarabell Christmas Stencils. Below is a description of each item and its condition:
The first item is a Santa "Soaky" Bubble Bath Bottle with Bubble Bath from the late 1950's. The bottle is made by The Colgate-Palmolive Company. It held 11 fluid ounces and measures 7” tall. This bottle is missing only a couple of ounces of the Bubble Bath. The store price of $1.69 is stamped on top of the cap.
**Condition: Very good condition, very clean and bright. There are only a two small spots and a few very tiny spots where the white paint of Santa's Suit is missing. Overall it's in fantastic condition for being over 60 years old.
The second item is a single large sheet of Christmas Stencils featuring Howdy Doody and Clarabell character stencils along with other Christmas Stencils. The stencils were made by the U.S. Packaging Corporation, a Division of B.T. Babbitt, Inc., of New York, Stencil Pack No. FB-1-S. The sheet when opened measures 32" x 21". There is a total of 19 stencils. If you grew up in the 1950's and ‘60's you had a choice of using a can of spray snow or using a can of Glass Wax when putting your stencils on a window or on a mirror in your house. The Howdy Doody TV children's show and Soaky Bubble Bath Bottles were big hits throughout the 1950's and into the 1960's.
**Condition: Very good condition. The snowman stencil is missing a piece of the paper but this doesn’t affect the stenciling.
If your mom or dad or a grandparent grew up in the 1950's and 60's, this Santa Soaky and Howdy Doody and Clarabell Christmas Stencils will bring back some great memories.
