Let's take a trip back to the 1960’s when some of the greatest rock n' roll music was played over the radio and on the record player. Pictured are six pieces of Sheet Music from the 1960’s featuring Petula Clark, Paul Anka, Bobby Vinton and Peter, Paul and Mary. From the 1960’s through the 1980’s these six entertainers recorded dozens of great songs that were danced to, sang to, and listened to on the radio. Listed below is each piece of sheet music and its condition:
1.)"Downtown" recorded by Petula Clark in 1964 and copyrighted by Welbeck Music Ltd. of London, England. **Condition: The front and back covers are in good condition and the inside pages are in good condition, very clean and bright. Covers have minor edge wear, ½” tear at bottom of spine, tiny piece missing from top front edge, markings in pencil on inside pages, and front right bottom corner and back left bottom corner have tiny crease marks.
During the 1960’s Petula Clark became known globally for her popular hits including Downtown, I Know a Place, My Love, Colour My World, A Sign of The Times, and Don't Sleep in The Subway.
2.)The Story of My Love recorded by Paul Anka in 1959 and copyrighted by Spanka Music Corp. of New York. **Condition: The front and back covers and the inside pages are in very good condition, very clean and bright. Covers top edge have a tiny tear.
During the 1950’s and 1960’s Paul Anka was one of the top teen idols of the time. During that time he had a number of hits in the top one hundred hits of the week. Also he upset thousands of young boys who fell in love with Annette Funicello from Mickey Mouse Club fame when he started to date her in the 1960’s.
3.)Mister Lonely recorded by Bobby Vinton in 1962 and copyrighted by Ripley Music Inc. of New York. **Condition: The front and back covers and the inside pages are in very good condition, very clean and bright. Back cover top left corner has a crease mark.
Some of Bobby Vinton’s number one hits included---Mr. Lonely, Blue Velvet, Roses Are Red My Love, “There I've Said it Again" plus numerous top one hundred hits over the years.

4.)Puff (The Magic Dragon) copyrighted in 1963 by Pepamar Music Corp. **Condition: The front and back covers are in good- condition and the inside pages are in good- condition, very clean and bright. The front and back covers have light wear, tiny tear at top and bottom of spine, minor edge wear, two tiny tears and minor chipping along right edge of front cover, tiny tear along back left edge, water stains along the back bottom edge, and corners of front and back are bumped. Inside pages have water stains along bottom edges.
5.)Leaving On a Jet Plane copyrighted in 1967/69 by Cherry Lane Music Inc. of New York. **Condition: The front and back covers are in good- condition and the inside pages are in good condition, very clean and bright. The covers have light wear, corners have small crease marks, light wear along edges of front cover, rubbing to the covers, and water marks along the bottom edge of the back cover. Minor water stains along bottom edges of inside pages, and top corner crease marks.
6.)Blowin’ In The Wind copyrighted in 1962/63 by M. Witmark & Sons. **Condition: The front and back covers are in good condition and the inside pages are in good condition, very clean and bright. The covers have surface wear, tiny crease marks at all the corners, minor edge wear, tiny tear at the top left back corner, and a minor water stain near the back bottom edge. There is also a ½” tear at the top and bottom of the spine.
Peter, Paul and Mary started as a group in 1961 and ended their career in 2009 after Mary Travers passed away. Blowin’ In The Wind was their only number one hit but along the way they had numerous top one hundred hits and became the most popular folk rock group in America and overseas. They were well known for fighting for civil rights for all Americans and their stand against the war in Vietnam.
