Offered for sale is the Deluxe Edition W.W.VA. World’s Original Radio Jamboree Famous Songs Book and the Eddy Arnold Folio of Songs You Love. These two vintage country western song folios are from 1942 and 1944. Listed below is each song book and their condition:
1.The Deluxe Edition of "W.W.VA. World's Original Radio Jamboree Famous Songs" Book from 1942. The Song Book was copyrighted in 1942 and published by M.M. Cole Publishing Co. of Chicago. The book has 85 songs on 96 pages with the last page showing the inside of the auditorium in Wheeling, West Virginia. The first broadcast was on Saturday, January 7th, 1933, from Midnight to 2:00 A.M.---radio broadcasting history was made. After one month the studio audiences became so large they made arrangements in March of 1933 to move to Wheeling. Their first stage show was on Saturday night April 1st, 1933, and was greeted with a packed house of loyal fans.
**Condition: The front and back covers are in good condition, very clean and bright. The inside pages are in good condition, very clean and bright. *Covers: There is stress, a couple of tiny tears to the spine, and chipping at the top and bottom of the spine; tiny crease marks to the top and bottom right front and left back corners, two small crease marks to the bottom right front corner; a tiny piece missing from the top edge of the front cover, three tiny tears along the right edge of the front cover and minor chipping along the bottom edge of the front cover; very minor chipping along all the edges of the back cover. *Inside Pages: There is a tiny crease mark at the bottom right corner of each of the first 14 pages.
So grab your steel guitar or fiddle start singing away, I hope the neighbors don't complain.
2.The Eddy Arnold Folio of Songs You Love from 1944. The Folio was copyrighted in 1944 and published by Wallace Fowler Publications of Nashville, Tennessee. The song book was prepared and published for Eddy Arnold, "The Tennessee Plowboy" and sold by the Southern Music Company of San Antonio 6, Texas. A young singer and guitarist and new star was featured on WSM-NBC radio at the Grand Ole Opry. The song book has 21 songs featured on 32 pages. Page 14 has a full page photo of Eddy holding his guitar. Eddy Arnold is also shown on the cover inside the star.
**Condition: The front and back covers are in good condition, clean and bright. The inside pages are in very good condition, very clean and bright. *Covers: There is stress, light wear, and a 2” tear to the spine; a crease mark to the bottom right front corner and tiny crease marks at the top left back corner; a half inch light brown thin line on the back cover. Way back in 1968 my wife and I saw Eddy Arnold at the Great Allentown Fair in Allentown, Pa., and he put on a wonderful performance.
