Today I'm offering for sale an assortment of Franklin D. Roosevelt memorabilia from 1940, 41, and 1943. Listed below is each item and a description:
1. A four page election pamphlet of Walter A. Jones of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the current Chairman of the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission who was running as a Candidate for Democratic Nomination to the U.S. Senate. The primary election took place on April 23, 1940, in Montgomery County in Pennsylvania. Mr. Jones was the first Commissioner of the Pa. Turnpike which opened on October 1st, 1940. He is one of the 35 underwriters of the Roosevelt Memorial Library at Hyde Park which opened on June 30th, 1941. **Condition: Good condition with minor edge wear, chipping along top edge, and a crease mark down the center of the pamphlet.
2. Found inside the pamphlet is a "Vote The Roosevelt" Ticket Voter ID Card which of course lists the Democratic running for President, U.S. Senate, for State Treasurer, for Auditor General, for Delegate to National Convention, Alternate to National Convention, Representative in Congress and for Members of The State Committee-Committeeman and Committeewoman.**Condition: Very good condition.
3. A Souvenir Booklet from the National Archives of the Exhibition of Materials from The Franklin D. Roosevelt Library at Hyde Park, New York, located on Constitution Avenue between Seventh and Ninth Streets. The National Archives opened on October 2 through November 15, 1943. The booklet has 12 pages. The first page speaks of the items found in the library and the remaining pages lists 42 treasures the visitor can see first hand as they tour the stunning rooms throughout the exhibition hall. **Condition: The front and back covers are in fair condition with chipping on the edges and corners, light surface wear, and yellowing due to age. The front cover has 4 corner pieces missing. The inside pages are in very good condition, clean.
4. Inside the booklet is a small pamphlet given to those who toured the library in July of 1941. The pamphlet tells the visitor all about what they were about to see before entering the library. **Condition: Very good condition, very clean and bright.
These rare pieces of Franklin D. Roosevelt memorabilia would be a great addition to someone's collection of political memorabilia.
