Over the last 72 years tens of millions of Little Golden Books has been published and read by children worldwide. Pictured for sale are 3 wonderful Little Golden Books including a 1944 Mother Goose, a 1945 This Little Piggy, and a 1957 The Little Golden Mother Goose. Listed below is a description of each book and its condition:
1. A Little Golden Book titled, "The Little Golden Mother Goose", Number 283, First Edition dated 1957. It is Copyrighted in 1957 by Simon and Schuster, Inc., prepared under the supervision of Mary Reed, Ph.D., and illustrated by Feodor Rojankovsky. The book has 24 pages and features 75 favorite nursery rhymes, each with its own colorful illustrations. **Condition: The front and back covers are in good- condition. The inside pages are in very good condition. Covers have surface wear, corner bumps, and edge wear. On the inside of the front cover is the name of a little girl and the date, March 28, 1957, the book was given to her by her Grandma, all written in pencil. The covers and inside pages are very clean and bright.
2. A Little Golden Book titled, "Mother Goose", in its Second Printing from September, 1944. This is one of the first 12 Little Golden Books published in 1942. It is prepared under the supervision of Mary Reed, Ph.D. and the nursery rhymes were selected by Phyllis Fraser and illustrated by Miss Elliott, who also designed the front cover. It is copyrighted in 1944 by Simon and Shuster, Inc. The book has 24 pages with 26 beautifully illustrated nursery rhymes in color and black and white. **Condition: The front and back covers are in fair condition. The inside pages are in good condition. Covers has surface wear, moderate corner bumps, edge wear with two small pieces missing from the cloth spine. There is a yellowish stain along the top edge of the front cover and a 3” tear along the spine on the back cover and two small tears at the bottom of the spine. On the 22nd page the past owner scribbled in blue crayon. The inside pages are very clean.
3. A Little Golden Book titled, "This Little Piggy", and other Counting Rhymes which was in its Sixth Printing from January, 1945. This is also one of the first 12 Little Golden Books published in 1942. The rhymes were selected by Phyllis Fraser with illustrations by Roberta Paflin. The book has 42 pages with 37 rhymes in both color and black and white. **Condition: The front and back covers are in fair condition. The inside pages are in good- condition. Covers have surface wear, moderate corner bumps, edge wear, and two small pieces missing and small tears along the cloth spine. There is damage to the front cover and a crease mark down the length of the back cover. On the inside of the front cover there are three letters and a period written in pencil. There are two small tears on two inside pages. The inside pages are very clean.
