Offered for sale are Six 1950's Hammered Aluminum Drinking Cups and a Box of 8 Cloth Jackette Coasters. During the 1950's and 1960's aluminum kitchen-ware was very popular and found in most kitchens around the country.
The Six Hammered Aluminum Tumblers are silver in color. They were also made in purple, pink, blue, red, and a variety of other soft colors. The main manufacturers of aluminum tumblers were Starburst and the Italian Company, Boscol. These six cups are unmarked. They hold 11 ozs. and stand 5 1/8" tall and the tumbler tapers from 3" in diameter at the top to 2 1/8" in diameter at the base.
**Condition of Tumblers: One of the tumblers is in very good condition with surface wear on the outside of the tumbler. Five of the tumblers are in good condition; Three of the five have surface wear to the outside and 1 to 3 small dents around the top of the tumblers; Two of the five have an extra line of a design embossed on each tumbler from the factory and surface wear to the outside and one small dent around the top of one of the two tumblers.
The Box of 8 Jackette Coasters which were made in Japan during the 1950's and 1960's. This set is marked No. 1002/7346 and Made in Japan. The eight coasters come in 5 different color combinations. They feel like terrycloth and are very stretchy. The coasters are unused.
**Condition of Coasters: The 8 Coasters are in very good condition for being over 50 years old; The box is in very good condition and has four tiny crease marks on the top of the box; The bottom of the box has some light soiling and has two numbers written in pencil near the one corner of the bottom of the box.
These tumblers and coasters would be such a great addition to any kitchen. A wonderful gift too add to any kitchen collection.
