If you wrote MM on a piece of paper or said those letters while talking about famous women with your male friends, 99% would enthusiastically say Marilyn Monroe. Pictured for sale is an October 1955 Modern Screen Magazine and a wonderful 2004 Marilyn Monroe Clutch Purse. Below is a description of each item and their condition:
1.)A very nice Wallet Clutch Purse from 2004 that features Marilyn Monroe and Tom Ewell on the front from 20th Century-Fox movie "The Seven Year Itch". This purse was made by the Charles K. Feldman Group Productions and was only made in 2004 and has since been retired from production. This brown faux leather wallet clutch purse has a place for coins and bills, room for credit cards, two open compartments, and a zipper compartment with two open compartments inside. This purse measures 7 5/8" wide x 8½" long when open and 4¼" long when closed. It has a knotted top strap for easy carrying.
**Condition of Wallet Clutch Purse: Very good condition, inside and outside, very clean and bright. There are two 1/8" very thin lines of blue ink on the front of the purse.
2.)The next item is very special. It's a Modern Screen Magazine from October 1955, Volume 49, Number 11, published by Dell Publishing Company. It's one of the hundreds of magazines that featured Marilyn on its front cover. Her story is titled "The Very Private Life of MM" by William Barbour. There are two pages showing a simple day in life of MM plus two pages of MM posing in her bathrobe. The story takes place on six pages of the magazine. I'm positive you'll have a great time seeing and reading about Marilyn Monroe.
In addition is a 8 page gossip extra by Louella Parsons. Movie reviews on 17 current movies--one reviewed is Rebel Without a Cause. There are also wonderful stories about Jimmy Dean, Clark Gable, Margaret O'Brian, Guy and Sheila Madison, Glenn Ford, Ann Blyth, Marlon Brando, Leslie Caron, Robert Wagner, Esther Williams, Jack Lemmon, and Liz Taylor. The magazine is like a time capsule. It gives a glance of the most famous movie stars that ever appeared in the movies. A time when a movie star was bigger then life. Marilyn appeared on the cover of more then a 1000 magazines in the United States and in dozens of magazines around the world. This magazine measures 10 7/8" long x 8 ½" wide x ¼" thick.
**Condition of October 1955 Modern Screen Magazine: The front and back covers are in good condition, very clean and bright. The inside pages are in very good condition, very clean and bright. *Covers: There is light wear along the spine, chipping at the top and bottom of the spine, and a ¾" tear at the bottom of the spine. There are tiny crease marks at each of the corners and a tiny piece missing from the bottom left back corner. There is a ¼" tear along the right edge of the front cover. There is chipping along the top and right edges of the back cover and a ¼" tear at the bottom edge of the back corner. *Inside pages: There is a tiny tear along the bottom edge of the last four inside pages and crease marks at the top right corner of most of the inside pages.
A great gift for a fan of Marilyn Monroe or for someone who is still in love with Marilyn.
