In 1979 The American Legion along with the Mitcher's Whiskey Distillery of Schaefferstown, Pennsylvania, sponsored "The American Legion Doughboy" Whiskey Bottle in honor of those who served in WWI. The bottle stands 14" tall and features a Doughboy standing with a grenade in his right hand and a rifle in his left hand. On the back along the base it shows Two American Legion Emblems plus it reads Pennsylvania American Legion "Doughboy" 1979. On the front along the base it reads, Michter's Whiskey Pot Still Sour Mash, 86 proof, 750 mi (25.4 fl. oz), Distilled and bottled by Michter's Distillery, Schaefferstown, Pa. The tax label is still attached to the bottle. On the bottom of the bottle it reads gvi, G.V.I. China.
**Condition: The bottle is in very good condition, bright and very clean. The box is soiled but solid.
Michter's is older than America which was established in 1753 and was placed on the National Register of Historic Places by the U.S. Government.
A cool gift to give someone who collects vintage figurine type whiskey bottles.
