With his flight he became an instant hero in America and all around the world. This newspaper story gives full account of all the ceremonies which took place from 11 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Listed below are times and events leading up to 11:30 p.m:
11 a.m.: Arrival of the U.S.S. Memphis off navy yard and meeting with mother, Mrs. Evangeline Lindberg
12 p.m.: Landing and greeting by reception committee.
12:45 p.m.: Start of Parade past the Capitol and up Pennsylvania Avenue to Washington Monument grounds.
2 p.m.: Presentation to President Coolidge and decoration with distinguished flying cross.
2;30 p.m.: Fireworks display and departure to temporary White House on Dupont Circle.
7 p.m.: Guest of honor at Cabinet Dinner.
8:45 p.m.: Reception by Minnesota Stat Society.
9;45 p.m.: Reception by the National Press Club.
11:30 p.m.: Return to White House for the night.
