Offered for sale is an assortment of Ten Vintage Drug Store Tins and Bottles that mom and dad and/or grandma and grandpa would have purchased at their local drug store from the 1930's through the 1950's. Collecting drug store memorabilia is quite popular and can be very expensive since some items are extremely hard to find while other items are somewhat common and can be found for ten dollars or less. Listed below is a description and condition of each of the ten items:
1.)Large Scotch Brand Cellulose Tape Tin which held 2 rolls - ½ x 2592 inches of transparent tape. It is marked on the side "Made in U.S.A. by Minnesota Mining & MFG. Co., of Saint Paul 6, Minn.". The top of the tin has the famous Scotch Brand Red Plaid design. It measures is 1¼" high and 5¼" in diameter. *Condition: Good+ Condition, very clean and bright. The inside and outside of this tin has minor surface scratches and normal surface wear.
2.) English Ice Bag in Original Box, No. 436, by Davol Rubber Co., Providence, Rhode Island. On the inside of the screw cap it reads "Pat. Aug 1927. This Ice Bag measures 5½" long and the screw cap is 6" in diameter. *Condition: The bag is in excellent condition, very clean and bright; The box is in fair condition with one end torn off and in the box. There are about 6 more tiny to small tears in the box.
3.) 4 oz. Mennen Quinsana Powder Tin for athletes foot and daily foot care. The Tin reads "A Product of Mennen Laboratories, The Mennen Co., Morristown, N.J., Toronto, Ont., Made in U.S.A." This Tin measures 2¼" wide x 4¾" long x 1½" deep. *Condition: Good Condition, very clean and bright. There is minor wear on the top where the powder came out and very minor surface wear on the rest of the tin.
4.) Rawleigh's 87 Tablet Bottle of Cold Tablets and Laxative Compound by The W. T. Rawleigh Company, Freeport, Ill., U. S. A. This bottle measures 1 3/8" square x 3 1/8" tall.*Condition: Good- Condition. There is a tear down the length of the label on the bottle. The label is still attached to the bottle.
5.) Highly Medicated Rawleigh's 5 oz. Antiseptic Healing Salve Tin still with the contents. The top of the Tin reads "For Man and Beast, Manufactured by The W. T. Rawleigh Company, Freeport, ILL., U. S. A., Price 25 Cents. It measures 3 ¾" in diameter x 1 3/8" deep. *Condition: Good- Condition. There is surface scratching to top and bottom(bottom is worse than top) of Tin. All the words can be easily made out.
6.) Sloan's Liniment 2 1/2 fluid oz. Bottle in Original Box. It was for external use and helped to relieve Rheumatic and Arthritic pains. The front of the bottle and the box reads "Sloan's Liniment, Dr. Earl S. Sloan, Distributed by Standard Laboratories, Inc., New York, Los Angeles, St. Louis, Made in U.S.A., 2 ½ Fl. Ozs. (74 cc.)". The bottle measures 2" wide x 5 1/8" tall and the box measures 2" x 5 ¼" tall. *Condition: The glass bottle is in very good condition and the box is in fair condition. There are stains on the paper label on the bottle but still looks great. The top end is missing from the box and the box is stained. There are some tears along the top edge and the one side of the box.
7.) Purepac Boric Acid Powdered 4 oz. Tin. The Tin reads "Purepac Boric Acid, U.S.P. powdered, Net Wt. 4 oz., Packaged by Purepac Corporation, New York, N.Y., Chicago, ILL.". It measures 2¾" wide x 3" tall x 2" deep. *Condition: Good condition, very clean and bright. There are some surface scratches on the top of the tin and light wear on the bottom of the tin. There are also 4 tiny dents(hardly noticeable) on the tin.
8.) A Box of Fairy Candles made in the 1920's or 30's by Emery Industries, Inc., of Cincinnati, Ohio. A full box had 36 green and blue candles. The new candles are 2¼" long and the box measures 2½" wide x 2 5/16" long. However, there are only 22 used and un-used candles left. *Condition: Good condition. One small inside flap is broken off but in still inside the box. The surface of the one side of the box is a little soiled and has 3 tiny tears. The other side of the box is in very good condition, very clean and bright.
9.) A small Alka-Seltzer Travel Size Glass Bottle. The Bottle measures 2 5/8" high and is 1 3/8" in diameter. It is marked Alka-Seltzer on the top of the blue screw on top.*Condition: Good condition. There is some residue on the glass bottle near the bottom probably from a paper label which has been removed. There is minor wear on the screw on top.
10.) Camel Tube Patch (The Worlds Best) cardboard and metal container with contents still inside. The patch kit was made by H.B. Egan Manufacturing Company and is copyrighted 1946 No. 21-49. It measures 2 3/8" wide x 3½" long and comes with a tube of glue, one large patch, a metal surface grinder, and three smaller patches.*Condition: Good+ Condition, very clean and bright. There is light surface wear, very minor.
