A wonderful Dutch Delft peacock bowl made by de Krauw circa 1770. It measures 14 inches in diameter and has a height of 2 1/2 inches. This earthenware bowl has a tin glaze and a yellow rim to simulate gilt. The base carries the de Krauw mark and the number 3. There is a wire backing for hanging. The bowl features a central vase of flowers with panels of peacock feathers behind. The wide border has stylized flowers in light and dark blues.
This bowl is in excellent condition with wear consistent with age and use. There are no cracks and some very minor losses. A real gem from the 1700’s.
