Wood butter stamps were used frequently in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s to place a unique design on a block or round of homemade butter. This early butter stamp has a swan carved on the bottom to place this design on the block of butter. It measures 4” tall including the handle and the stamp part measures 3 7/8” in diameter. There is a dim hairline on the outside edge that I tried to show in the photo. The stamp is in very good condition. Please see all photos and ask any questions.
