Victorian Banded Agate Antique Brooch

This elegant brooch was created in the mid to late 1800s.

Condition Report:
Very Good - A tiny piece of the granulation (gilded metal beading) is missing from the design. This is only apparent upon very close examination and does not detract from the appeal of the piece.

The Details...
This brooch is constructed from gilded metal or Pinchbeck formed into a design resembling cannetille work. The brooch is detailed at its centre with a large, oval Agate stone, which is then surrounded by a halo of small, round, bezel set banded Agate cabochons. The fastening pin is fitted to the brooch with a tube hinge and the brooch fastens with a 'C' catch. The brooch measures 4.75cm x 4.5cm.
