Barry Leighton Jones was born in London 1932 and is a direct descendant of the victorian artist and President of the Royal Academy, Lord Frederic Leighton. He began his artistic career at age 5 by winning a major art competition and later completed seven years of academic training at Sidcup and Brighton and was tutored by English artist John Minton from the Royal College of Art.
Although best know for his clowns and urchins, social situations pub scenes or the weighty ladies most artists are pleased when their works are beautifully painted. His thoughts were happy when a painting elicits a good laugh. British humor is a tradition he so loved. Here is a striking example of his thoughts of the time about shenanigans behind closed doors of the fun and games played amongst those who have their fingers on the scale of the law.
