Magnetic "Air Race" world globe from the early 1950s. The cartographer is Gustav Brueckmann. This is a globe from a mid-century game called "Air Race"--used with play cards and magnetic airplanes to attach to the globe (not included). The globe is a color transfer painted steel orb with a time dial at the North Pole. The base is a raised dome with metal spinners, all painted with game chance squares. Major cities are emphasized in red on the globe--shows Chunking and Kunming in southern China, and an undivided Korea.
