Pair of large Italian table lamps; the thick brass plate was worked on a manual lathe in several pieces that were then carefully assembled by hand; for turning in a slab you start with a boxwood model of the object to be made fixed on a lathe and with a special tool, the craftsman perfectly adheres the metal sheet to the wood (see photo) thus giving it the shape volute (boxwood, of oriental origin, is particularly suitable, due to its hardness to these turning works); the lamps were then manually brushed and polished; despite being very large, their shape has been well studied making them harmonious and pleasantly elegant. The electrical part has been made new, but Warning: the electrical system is new but the wiring is European, the compatibility of the voltage in other states must always be verified before use.
The primary photo set is only explanatory, the lampshades are not included. Produced in northern Italy between 1965 and 1970. D.cm.25 H.cm.49
