Vintage R. Blackinton & Co. Sterling Silver Cigarette Case with Gilded Interior d.1966 (4.6oz) (W)4in. x (L)3in. The Sterling Silver Cigarette Case is a product of the R. Blackinton & Co. of North Attleboro, MA; (est.1862) and was produced over (100) years later, in the year (1966). We see evidence of the last vestiges of the Art Deco, artistic period; while incorporating the more modern, Mid-Century style, into the design. The Cigarette Case is comprised of a: thick, quality, [.925] Sterling Silver. The smooth exterior texture of the Case offers for a: bright, reflective, shine; particularly upon the Sterling being polished or buffed. The interior of the Case is richly decorated with a Gilded wash, allowing for optimum optics and a bold contrast that accentuates the Piece. The Cigarette Case is opened by a push-button clasp; while each side is held in place by an exceptionally strong hinge-line. The Cigarette Case utilizes a Sterling swing-arm, (to each side of the interior) in the shape of the "Fleur-de-lis" to hold the interior contents (cigarettes) in place. This particular Piece is large enough to allow for a variety of practical applications. One could easily use the Case as a Wallet; it's a: dry, resilient, strong, and safe, place to store important personal items such as: Cash, Credit Cards, or even a DL/ID. A lovely monogram is engraved to the exterior surface, offering some authenticity to the Vintage Piece; as well as a personalized inscription to the interior of the Case.
