These painted eye French Fisher pairs were souvenirs of trips abroad and now popular to collectors. Their shoulder-plates may be marked but their sewn-on clothing was not removed to check. Gaultier was the major producer of bisque heads for this type of doll and this pair has that "look".They have bisque shoulder-plate heads and hands and cloth bodies. They are in original costumes and carry the tools of their trade – fish, nets, a basket and a barrel. The woman wears clogs and the man heavy boots. They are in good condition- the man has a bit of a scrape on his head and the moths have been at part of the woman’s skirt. They make a great display and their price reflects these minor issues. There is a handwritten tag on the back of the woman, which says "Fisherwoman" and another word in French.

They are attributed to Gaultier.
