This 15-inch tall doll was made by Lynne and Michael Roche esteemed dollmakers of Bath, England. She has a porcelain socket head, porcelain hands, and a ball-jointed wood body. She has a hand-knotted auburn mohair wig, brown glass set eyes, and a closed mouth.
Costume: Beth wears her all original costume consisting of a beige corduroy jumper, red sweater, plaid trimmed underskirt, and brown leather shoes. Her dress has a plaid pocket in the shape of a cat’s head with embroidered features, a wooden Cat pin, and two wooden star buttons. The clothing was designed for this doll.
Marks: As her cardboard wrist tag indicates, she is named Beth, by Lynne & Michael Roche, England and is from a limited production of 1991.
Condition: She is in excellent unplayed with condition.
Artists: In the Roche partnership, Lynne made the bisque portions and paints the faces and Michael designed and created the wood bodies. Their dolls are modeled after English children. Their retirement was announced a few years ago. The “doll grapevine” suggests that they are now making only a very few special dolls, not for public distribution. Their dolls have the quality of fine bisque from the last century and they studied antique dolls as models. Beth offers you an opportunity to add a beautiful, special Roche creation to your collection. She is priced well under her original cost and is in excellent condition
