This darling little Kathe Kruse boy is a great example of the early Kathe Kruse Doll I. He has the wide hips, 3 seams at the back of his head and sewn on thumbs of the first doll issued by this famous German dollmaker. He has a registration number on the bottom of his foot. His body is clean and in very good condition as are his painted features and hair. Black light shows no repaint. These dolls often show much wear from being well-loved. They were made as play dolls, for children to cuddle and carry with them. He must have belonged to a very conscientious child who took very good care of him.
He wears what might be his original costume of a cotton tunic top and striped pants. He also wears a harmonica and pocketknife around his neck. He comes to you fresh from Germany.
