This beautiful Premier-Portrait Jumeau Fashion has a pressed bisque swivel head over bisque shoulder-plate, large blue glass inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, arched feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with outlined lips, and pierced ears. She has the lovely, delicate pale bisque of the Jumeau firm. She also has the wrap-around paperweight eyes typical of the Portrait. She wears her brunette mohair wig over a cork pate. She has a sturdy kid poupee body with gusset-jointing at elbows, hips and knees.
Condition: Her bisque is perfect without any repair or damage. She wears her original Ernestine Jumeau costume fitted perfectly to her of burgundy velvet and silk with aqua bows, matched undergarments, and leather boots with aqua bows which are incised J.J. Three internationally recognized experts on French Fashion dolls agreed with the attribution of her costume to the house of Ernestine Jumeau. The costume was not removed for further examination as it would damage the fitted and fragile fabric. The hat she is shown with does not belong to her. I tried it on her for the picture with the wardrobe and forgot to take it off when I photographed her for her own listing. Unfortunately, it belongs to another doll and had to go back to her. Thus it is not included with this doll. Her costume is for the drawing room, which does not require a hat. Sorry for any confusion this causes.
Comments: French, circa 1877, attributed to Emile Jumeau, this is the early facial model that transitioned into the premiere bebe model. These fabulous dolls costumed by Ernestine Jumeau are becoming more and more difficult to find.
The armoire and sac du voyage are sold in separate listings and not included with this doll. Layaway welcome.
