Each doll is all-bisque with jointed arms, amber complexion, modeled cap in four different variations, 3 standing and one kneeling, painted slippers. Excellent condition. Germany, circa 1915. The standing dolls are 4” and the kneeling 3.5”. They are variations off the Gebruder Heubach “Chin-Chin”
The girl has a circular “Made in Germany mark on the bottom of her feet. The others re unmarked but obviously Heubach, of very fine German bisque and painting. I have been asked whether two of them are the Japanese copies called Queue San dolls. This group is of much better bisque and painting than the Japanese versions so I am sticking with my identification and that of the reliable expert I purchased them from. Excellent condition aside from small chips at the top of the arms of the kneeling boy.
