Opaline glass vanity canister jar by Dithridge & Co, Pittsburgh, circa 1900, has nicely detailed highly raised 3-dimensional roses on the jar and the lid. Much of the green trim paint is evident, especially around the top of the lid and up the side of the jar. The roses are so dramatic and nicely detailed that even without the full layer of original paint on the roses we feel it is an attractive jar.
Jar measures without the lid 5 ½” tall and 4 ½” across the bottom at the widest part, which is at the corner of the 4-footed jar. The lid is 2 ½” high by 4” across. The jar has no cracks, chips or breaks, and the lid has only 2 inner chips and an inner fleabite – still a lovely Opaline Colonial Roses jar. Please see photos and feel free to ask any questions.
