Vintage primitive calf weaning device from the early 1900s still in great vintage shape. The item shows it's age with the touch of rust here and there! Having grown up on a great A dairy farm, we never used any devices like this to wean off the calf. The mother cow usually let her calf know when it was time to seek other sources of food. This device has a chain that fit over the calf's head. The extended metal parts usually discouraged a mother cow from allowing the calf to feed. The device is 21" from the chain top to the bottom of the extended parts. The metal part is 9 1/2" tall and 10" wide.
