Beautiful pair of hand carved solid wood bookends made by the Ifugao people of the Philippines. Bookends depict two musicians - one with a gong (gangsa) and one with flat drum. These are truly gorgeous, excellent carving, soft aged patina on wood with wonderful facial expressions. Bookends are carved on all three sides, they are 12" tall, 6" wide, and HEAVY (approximately 4 pounds each), which is perfect for keeping your books in place! They're clean and flawless. There's a small amount of clear glue on the bottom of each bookend. I believe the previous owner had felt glued to the bottom. This does not distract from the beauty or function. Perfect for your mid-century modern home!
