Beautiful vintage oval copper cachepot with cramped seams. This 12" X 5.5" X 4.25" has a rolled top edge with one side and bottom joined together with a soldered cramping method. This method of copper joinery was made by a machine stamping process of cutting equally spaced notches that would fit together like interlocking fingers. This method dates back to the mid 1850's. The overall condition is very good for its age.
