Here are three vintage sterling silver maple leaf brooches. All three brooches have small lines etched on the fronts, to give the appearance of leaf veins. The first brooch is not flat. It has an uneven surface that is slightly raised (on some parts), which gives it the appearance of a 'curled' Fall leaf that has fallen from a tree. It was hard to get an image of the true color of this item. In my images (see images no. 1 and 2), it looks like this very pretty brooch is both gold-toned and silver-toned (on its front), but it is actually only gold-toned. There is a gold-wash (over the sterling silver) on the brooch's front. The metal content also likely includes a small amount of copper, because the gold-toned front and the tarnished back (which needs to be cleaned) have lovely faint pink-toned streaks on them. The back of this brooch is marked ‘sterling’, with the letter ‘B’ that has a partial border around it. The second brooch looks like an Autumn leaf and its front is covered with red/orange, green, yellow, and brown enamel. Its back is marked ‘sterling’ and also has a very small hallmark that is not legible to me. Although I have seen similar brooches that were made by the Breadner Manufacturing Company (of Canada), it does not appear to me that this brooch has the Breadner hallmark (of BMCo). It has a c-clasp on its back, suggesting that it was probably made in (or before) the 1920s. The third brooch is silver toned and flat. It has brushed finish on its front and a highly polished finish on its back. The back is marked ‘Beau Sterling’, indicating that it was made by Beaucraft, Inc.. This was a Providence, Rhode Island company that made (mainly) brooches and charms that had a modernistic and/or naturalistic theme. It was founded in 1947 and closed in 2004. Leaf brooches like this Beaucraft brooch were popular in the 1950s and 1960s.

The gold-wash brooch is 1 1/2 inches (wide) by 1 1/2 inches (high). The enamel brooch is 1 inch (wide) by 1 1/8 inches (high). The Beaucraft brooch is 1 3/8 inches (wide) by 1 3/8 inches (high).

These items are in very good vintage condition, with no repairs to the metal, no chips or cracks on the enamel, and well-working pins/clasps. The metal on two of the brooches is tarnished and needs to be cleaned. The Beaucraft brooch does not need cleaning. The metal on all three brooches does not attract to a magnet.
