Up for Sale is a beautiful Copperplate Engraving depicting Northern and Central Italy, included the island of Corsica and parts of Sardinia.
Printed in Paris in 1769 by artist Jérôme Lalande.
A map of northern Italy, Corsica and northern Sardinia, from his travel book titled "Voyage d'un François en Italie".
Jérôme Lalande was a French astronomer, freemason and writer.
It is interesting to notice that Corsica was acquired by France just one year before, in 1768.
Matted behind glass in contemporary gilt and black frame.
Overall good condition with some light creasing.
Appears to have been professionally restored.
