w tucker is a self taught artist based in Texas who has exhibited widely in Texas and at the Outsider Art Fair in New York.
The pair of drawings were purchased in 2017 from a Houston, Texas gallery, and since then, we have seen w tucker work in the most recent Outsider Art Fairs in New York.
Per a show review in The Houston Chronicle, " for about 20 years, Tucker has drawn simple figures and marks using his nondominant left hand so he won't over think his gestures. "That part of my brain, or being, doesn't seem to be troubled, whereas the right side is always grabbing or trying to figure out - should this line be here?" he said.
Tucker's work looks deceptively simple, sparsely integrating childlike line drawings of floating heads, boats, rabbits and elephants with the occasional squiggly line or spot. These images appear on painted surfaces that are sometimes smooth, sometimes distressed, sometimes applied with a palette knife that gives them an interesting texture."
