Pax Service 1954-1956 Hand Carved Wooden Scrapbook
In excellent condition, appears to not have been used. The black scrap book pages are intact and clean and without damage. Some of the wax paper between the black pages have been folded, but they are in very good condition.
The cover is hand carved wood, and the cord is intact and clean. This is a rare historical artifact. Per my research about Pax Service, "Before the inception of charitable organizations for impoverished people globally, the Mennonite Central Committee was an early innovator for overseas development. Pax (Latin meaning peace) was one of its programs designed specifically for volunteer single men of draft age." Individuals with a religious stance to oppose war, volunteered for Pax Service in more than 40 countries.
