3 Druzy Quartz on Matrix from Blackwell, Missouri, Collected in the 1950s
They each have very small number painted discreetly on them to mark when they were collected in December of 1953. The largest measures 6.5" x 4.5" x 2.5". They all display well under light and from many different angles. These are very fine minerals from the estate of a proud collector in North Georgia who was collecting minerals during the Golden Age of Amateur Geology and Rockhounding, the 1950s. Before there were so many private property rules and laws, and commercial development, amateur rockhounds were able to discover all sorts of fine minerals and fossils from locations in the United States that are now off-limits, private property, or developed over by a strip mall or housing.
