Antique 1891 Map of ASIA Authentic Old Ephemera
Original antique map of Asia.
Printed by Collier, New York, 1891.
Measures approximately 11" x 12 1/2".
It's fascinating to see the topological differences Asia has seen since the printing of this map, close to 130 years ago! Some marked differences I noticed over a quick review:
-Corea - North and South Korea are united as one country
-Kimg-Ki-Tao - previous name of Seoul
-Turkey and "Turkey in Asia"
-Burmah, Siam, and Anam (I assume is known nowadays as Vietnam)
-Manchooria - what is that?
-Hedjaz & Nejd - both eventually became Saudi Arabia
-Along those lines, the absence of many other "-stan" countries
-Beeloo-Christan - not 100% sure, but I believe this came to be most of what we know as modern day Pakistan
-Georgia - the country, not the state, and shows an absence of Azerbaijan
Great condition! Vertical centerfolds. Please see pictures.
