This couple has been safely stored away for many years in this old Du Barry Necessaire Paper Hinged Box. The bride and groom are both about 4" tall...he is celluloid and she is painted bisque with lovely features. I can not tell if she is marked because her previous owner's grandma made and stitched the clothing on. ..back in the early 1900s. The groom is wearing a blue velvet uniform with a gold sash & red wool hat with red feather . The bride is wearing a gown that comes to the floor and has a veil with train that trails about 10" behind her! The train is made of a silk like fabric (like the gown) underneath a piece of tambour type net lace...lots of hand stitching on it too. The gown has a few age dots on it and the bride has a mark on one cheek...but still lovely!!
